IPS e.max ZirCAD

IPS e.max ZirCAD blocks are made of yttrium oxide-stabilized zirconium oxide and are available in 6 sizes (C15, C15L, B40, B40L, B55, B65)1).

Because of its strength, the material is suitable for the fabrication of crown and bridge frameworks in the anterior and posterior region, as well as for implant superstructures.

In the partially sintered state, IPS e.max ZirCAD can be easily milled in the inLab or inLab MC-XL (Sirona) unit. The milling process is conducted by enlarging the framework by 20%.

During the subsequent controlled sintering process in the Sintramat high-temperature furnace, the frameworks shrink to their final size and are imparted with the high fracture strength and high fracture toughness.

Newly available are pre-shaded IPS e.max ZirCAD Colour Blocks in the shades MO1 and MO2 (based on the shade system used in conjunction with IPS e.max Press and CAD glass-ceramics).
They are particularly suitable for large restoration cases, as a matching shade of the different frameworks is ensured making it considerably easier to reproduce the desired shade in the subsequent veneering procedure.

Alternatively, frameworks made of white IPS emax ZirCAD Blocks (MO 0) can be shaded with the 4 IPS e.max ZirCAD Colouring Liquids2) prior to sintering or zirconium liners can be applied after sintering.
Subsequently, IPS e.max ZirPress is pressed in a fully or partially anatomical manner onto the crown copings and bridge frameworks or IPS e.max Ceram layering ceramic is used to apply the veneers.
